BOOKING CONDITIONS
These conditions do not apply to reservations made for students, interns, professors, MITACS-GLOBALINK participants, or groups.

The following conditions apply to reservations made directly through our booking platform or through any external platform. Certain exceptions may apply for reservations made through external platforms such as Booking.com or Expedia; these will be displayed on the respective platforms.

These Terms and Conditions apply, without restriction or reservation, to any purchase of hostel room reservations and related services ("the Services") offered by the Establishment.
The Client is required to review and accept these Terms and Conditions before making any reservation. The choice and purchase of a Service is the sole responsibility of the Client.

Deposit and Payment

To confirm the reservation, a deposit equivalent to the first night’s stay will be charged to the Client’s credit card. This deposit is non-refundable in case of cancellation or modification to another date. The remaining balance is payable in person upon arrival. In the case of a contactless check-in requested by the client, the remaining balance will be charged by the Establishment to the credit card used at the time of booking.

Any reservation or payment that is irregular, unsuccessful, incomplete, or fraudulent due to the Client’s fault will result in the cancellation of the reservation at the Client’s expense.

A minimum of 3 nights is required for any reservation.

Reservation Guarantee: All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card provided at the time of booking. This card may be used to charge any amounts due under these Terms and Conditions.

The full balance must be paid no later than upon arrival unless otherwise agreed in writing. In the event of early departure or departure without full payment, the Establishment reserves the right to charge the guaranteed credit card for any outstanding balance.

By accepting these Terms and Conditions, the Client expressly authorizes the Establishment to charge the credit card on file for any amounts due, including unpaid room charges, additional services consumed, or damages caused to the room or its equipment.
Modification and Cancellation

The first night is non-refundable in case of any modification.

In case of complete cancellation, the first night remains non-refundable.

In case of early departure, a fee equivalent to one night’s stay will be charged unless the client has notified the Establishment at least 24 hours prior to departure.

If the client has received a discounted rate based on the length of stay (e.g., weekly or monthly rate), any modification to the reservation will result in a recalculation of the total price. This may result in the loss or adjustment of any discount initially granted.

Failure to check in within 24 hours of the scheduled arrival date (i.e., by 3:00 p.m. the following day) will be considered a cancellation by the Client. The first night is non-refundable.

All reservations are nominative and cannot be transferred to a third party, whether free of charge, for a fee, or for commercial purposes.

Arrival

Check-in is available from 3:00 p.m. on the scheduled arrival date.

All check-ins must occur during reception opening hours and in person, until 9:00 p.m.

Clients wishing to arrive after business hours and use the contactless check-in service must notify the Establishment as soon as possible and no later than 6:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. An email containing the secured locker code (Expedibox) will be sent between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on the day of arrival.

Departure

Unless otherwise agreed, the client must vacate the room before 11:00 a.m. on the departure date. Failure to do so will result in an additional night's charge.

Keys must be returned at the front desk or dropped in the express check-out box located near the reception.

A lost key will incur a $150 charge. No duplicate key will be issued without prior payment.

Failure to return keys in the designated locations will result in a $20 daily charge up to a maximum of $160. These charges will cease upon return of the key.

Any departure without settling outstanding charges at the front desk may result in automatic charges being applied to the credit card on file for any remaining balance.

Uncompleted Check-Out and Personal Belongings Left Behind : All guests must check out by the time indicated in their reservation. If the keys are not returned and the room is not vacated by the scheduled time: An additional night will automatically be charged. If no contact is made with the guest within 4 hours after the scheduled check-out time, the establishment reserves the right to lock the room and remove any personal belongings left behind. These belongings will be stored for a maximum of 7 days, after which they may be discarded or donated, with no compensation provided.

Other General Terms and Conditions

The Client agrees to use the room for its intended purpose, for personal use, and in accordance with the rules of the establishment and its surroundings. Any behavior contrary to public decency and order may result in the immediate eviction of the Client without compensation or refund if payment has already been made. If no payment has yet been made, the Client will remain liable for the cost of any nights already consumed.

All rooms are non-smoking. Animals are not permitted.

The Client agrees to immediately report to reception any problem, discomfort, or defect discovered during the stay (e.g., bedding, noise, defective equipment, missing supplies, etc.) so that the Establishment may take corrective action.

Failure to report such issues during the stay will prevent any subsequent claim for refund, compensation, or payment dispute.

The Client must be at least 18 years old on the date of reservation.

The original French version of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail over any translated version in case of dispute, litigation, difficulty of interpretation, or execution of these terms and the relationship between the parties.

Force Majeure: Force majeure refers to any unforeseeable, insurmountable, and external event that prevents either the Client or the Establishment from fulfilling all or part of their contractual obligations. Neither party shall be held liable for failure to perform due to force majeure. The execution of obligations will be suspended for the duration of such force majeure events, and each party shall bear its own resulting costs.

The photographs shown on the website or partner platforms are for illustrative purposes only. While every effort is made to ensure that photographs, graphics, and texts provide an accurate representation of the establishment and its services, variations may occur due to changes in furniture or renovations.

The Establishment shall not be held liable for non-performance or poor performance of the reservation due to force majeure, acts of third parties, unforeseeable circumstances, or faults attributable to the Client, including internet network unavailability, website access issues, external intrusions, computer viruses, or failed prepayment authorization by the Client’s bank.

Hyperlinks may direct users to external websites for which ZUM Auberge disclaims any responsibility for content or services offered.

We provide Wi-Fi or wired internet access for clients. The Client agrees not to use the hotel’s IT resources to reproduce, represent, make available, or communicate to the public any works or content protected by intellectual property rights (texts, images, photographs, music, audiovisual works, software, video games, etc.) without authorization from the copyright holders.

Confirmation of the reservation implies full acceptance of these general terms and conditions by the Client.
Conditions applying to trainees, MITACS participants, and guest professors.

These conditions do not apply to student reservations, group bookings, and summer clients.
Documentation Required
​
You must provide, as soon as possible, an original signed letter from a UdeM employee confirming your academic affiliation for a traineeship at the University of Montreal or affiliation as a professor or guest professor at the University of Montreal.

Deposit and Payment

Stays of 7 days or more and less than 31 nights: A non-refundable deposit equivalent to one week's stay is charged at the time of booking. No reservation can be confirmed if this payment is declined.

Stays of 31 nights or more: A non-refundable deposit equivalent to 31 nights' stay is charged at the time of booking. No reservation can be confirmed if this payment is declined.

The total amount of your reservation (minus the deposit) will be charged to your credit card 15 days before your arrival. This amount is non-refundable in case of cancellation once it has been debited.

Modification and Cancellation
Modifications are free of charge, up to 15 days before arrival.
In case of cancellation, any amount already debited is non-refundable (the deposit initially and the total amount 15 days before arrival).

Arrivals During the Summer Period (May 1st to August 23rd)

All arrivals can be made from 3:00 PM on the scheduled arrival day.

All arrivals must be made during our opening hours and in person, until 9:00 PM.

A client wishing to arrive after our opening hours and use our contactless check-in service must inform the establishment no later than 6:00 PM on the day of arrival. An email containing the code to retrieve from the secure "Expedibox" locker will be sent on the same day of your arrival between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Arrivals During the Non-Summer Period (August 24th to April 30th)

All arrivals are contactless via the "Expedibox" secure locker.

An email containing the code to retrieve from the secure "Expedibox" locker will be sent on the same day of your arrival between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. If you arrive between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM and do not receive the code, you can simply go to reception.

Departure

Other General Terms of Sale

The customer agrees and undertakes to use the room for its intended purpose, for personal use, respecting the premises, the neighborhood, or the establishment's regulations. Also, any behavior contrary to good morals and public order will lead the hotelier to ask the customer to leave the establishment without any compensation and/or refund if payment has already been made. If no payment has yet been made, the customer must pay for the consumed nights before leaving the establishment.

The customer must be at least 18 years old on the day of booking.

The French language shall prevail. If the booking conditions are translated into a foreign language, the French language shall prevail in case of dispute, disagreement, difficulty of interpretation, or execution of these conditions and more generally concerning the relations between the parties.

Force majeure refers to any event beyond the control of the parties that is unforeseeable, insurmountable, and external to the parties, preventing either the customer or the hotelier from fulfilling all or part of the contractually agreed obligations. Each party shall not be liable to the other party for the non-performance of its obligations resulting from a force majeure event. It is expressly agreed that force majeure suspends, for the parties, the performance of their reciprocal obligations and that each party bears the burden of the resulting costs.

The photographs presented on the website or those of the partners are purely indicative. Although every effort is made to ensure that the photographs, graphic representations, and texts reproduced to illustrate the establishment provide as accurate an overview as possible of the accommodation services offered, variations may occur, particularly due to changes in furniture or possible renovations.

The establishment shall not be held liable for the non-performance or improper performance of the reservation in case of force majeure, acts of third parties, unforeseeable and insurmountable events, acts of the customer, including internet network unavailability, inability to access the website, external intrusion, computer viruses, or unauthorized prepayment by the cardholder's bank.

Hyperlinks may refer to sites other than the ZUM Auberge website, which disclaims all responsibility for the content of these sites and the services offered.

We offer WIFI or wired access allowing customers to connect to the internet. The customer agrees that the computer resources made available to them by the hotel are not in any way to be used for the reproduction, representation, provision, or communication to the public of works or objects protected by copyright or neighboring rights, such as texts, images, photographs, musical works, audiovisual works, software, and video games, without the authorization of the rights holders.
Group Terms​
​
Booking conditions for groups may vary. All reservation and occupancy conditions will be sent to you at the same time as your rental agreement. A signature will be required for the acceptance of these conditions. ​
