Located in the heart of the Université de Montréal campus, our Summer Hostel, operated by the University’s Housing Services, is the perfect place to experience the best of Montréal life. Whether you’re a student, a traveler passing through, or attending an event, you’ll find comfortable, convenient, and affordable accommodation.
Our simple, well-equipped rooms provide everything you need for a pleasant stay, with direct access to the many amenities on campus and the city’s main attractions. Combining friendliness, accessibility, and great value, the Summer Hostel is the perfect starting point to discover Montréal from a new perspective.

Some of our rooms offer breathtaking views of the city! Enjoy the sight of Mount Royal’s trees, Saint Joseph’s Oratory, the Olympic Stadium, or the campus buildings right from your window.
With 400 rooms available during the summer in various configurations, there’s something for everyone, feel free to explore them all!

Our
localisation
ZUM MTL enjoys an exceptional location, right on campus and just steps away from major transportation options.
Within minutes, you can reach the Université-de-Montréal metro station as well as several bus lines (51–119) that provide quick access to nearby neighborhoods.
The REM (Réseau express métropolitain) and its Edouard-Montpetit station, which opened in 2025, connect our establishment to the city center in just 3 minutes!
A BIXI bike-sharing station is also conveniently located right outside our buildings.
This means you’ll enjoy direct and easy access to the entire city, all while staying in a lively, green environment at the foot of Mount Royal.
Communal kitchens
Tonight, pasta. Tomorrow, chili. Cooking here is pure joy. Around the central island, you’ll actually want to cook. The kitchens are bright and modern, with plenty of stoves and microwaves, spacious counters — it’s a truly inviting space. You can open a bottle, share a toast, and pass the salt and pepper around. Just bring your own dishes — and good company. The beautiful self-serve kitchens at ZUM are waiting for you to enjoy great meals together.
Please note: with more than 1,100 rooms on site, we’re unable to provide kitchen equipment for loan.
Shared bathrooms
The vast majority of our rooms are equipped with shared bathrooms, used by residents on the same floor. All bathrooms are non-mixed, and some floors feature gender-neutral restrooms, feel free to contact us if you require one.
To ensure everyone’s comfort and well-being, each resident’s cooperation is essential in keeping these spaces clean, functional, and pleasant to use.
